Born and raised in Lakewood, Colorado, Dr. Toby “DocSpitz” Spitzlberger built his clinic to reflect the values he lives by: honesty, hard work, and whole-person healing. After earning his degree in Exercise Science and Sports Medicine from California Lutheran University, he went on to co-author two research papers with the U.S. Olympic Committee and USA Track & Field.
DocSpitz earned his Doctor of Chiropractic at Palmer College West, where he trained on the field at events like the National Senior Games, Sea Otter Classic, and US Half Marathon. He was later selected for a prestigious integrative care internship at the Veteran Affairs hospitals of California, gaining firsthand experience in multi-disciplinary patient care and advanced referral systems.
In 2011, he returned to Colorado and founded DocSpitz Performance Clinic—bringing an integrative, sports-based approach to injury recovery and musculoskeletal performance.
DocSpitz lives in Morrison with his wife Erica and their three kids—Genevieve, Roya, and Kannon. All Colorado natives, they spend their time walking the dogs, swimming, playing at local parks, and enjoying family meals together. His faith, family, and community are at the heart of everything he does.
